The Staff Pad has partnered with a hospital in Helena to hire an OR Support Technician (Operating Room).
Location: Helena, MT
Status: Full-Time
Shift: Days (8- or 10-hour shifts)
Department: Operating Room
Position SummaryThe OR Support Technician provides essential support to the Operating Room team by assisting with patient transport, room turnovers, equipment setup, infection prevention, and maintaining a safe, efficient surgical environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patient safety, cleanliness, and smooth OR operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient transport, positioning, and transfers to and from the OR and PACU
- Support room turnovers to meet infection prevention and cleanliness standards
- Set up and retrieve equipment and supplies for surgical procedures
- Maintain sterile fields and follow infection control and universal precautions
- Deliver specimens and assist with inventory stocking as assigned
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Communicate effectively with the OR team using Vocera and other tools
- Promote patient safety, confidentiality, and positive customer service
- Perform other duties as assigned by OR leadership
- Preferred: 6 months experience in a healthcare or patient-care setting
- Ability to safely move patients, equipment, and supplies using proper body mechanics
- Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Proficient in reading and writing English
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire
