Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) – Pediatric Outpatient

Location:

Helena, MT

Pay: $28+ per hour (DOE)

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join a small, collaborative, and fun outpatient team serving primarily the pediatric population (birth–18 years). This role offers a mix of clinic-based, in-home, and community services, allowing care to be delivered in the setting that best supports each child and family. This is an excellent opportunity for an OTA who is passionate about pediatrics, values teamwork, and enjoys variety in their day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic and self-care interventions to pediatric patients under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR)
  • Monitor patient performance to ensure activities are completed safely and correctly, offering guidance and encouragement
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences to support coordinated care plans
  • Complete daily documentation and weekly progress notes accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supply inventory
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment techniques and home programs under OTR supervision
  • Assist with light administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Associate degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current Montana OTA license or ability to obtain licensure
  • CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Physical ability to lift equipment, kneel, stoop, and stand for extended periods
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards
