Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, eight (8) years' experience in the IT industry as a developer, Tech Ops engineer,
or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Working knowledge in lottery environment or experience to similar technical roles desirable.
- 5 years' experience with relevant technologies and scripting in Bash and/or Python
- Good knowledge on version control software (Git, SVN, CVS) and automation tools (Bamboo, Jenkins)
- Excellent understanding of Web technologies, HTTP services (REST, JSON)
- Experience in using Java application deployment & application servers will be considered a plus
- Knowledge of networking, data communications, and TCP/IP troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Nagios or other similar monitoring tools.
- Understanding of SQL/PLSQL, database structures, principles, and theories.
- Overall knowledge of various OS platforms, including AIX, Windows, UNIX, LINUX.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Dockers, Virtual Machines, and their configuration/operations/support.
- Knowledge of scripting languages to provide efficiencies and standardization of operational processes.
- Knowledge and experience with source control systems (TFS) and experience in managing the configuration and security of TFS projects.
- Knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira, confluence, etc.).
- Test Tool experience like Postman, SoapUI, or other equivalent tools.
- Aptitude to conduct research into networking issues and problems as required.
- Ability to acquire proficiency in new software applications.
- Ability to organize and prioritize to effectively multitask and work under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as a team member.
- Comfortable in a frequently changing, deadline-oriented business environment.
- Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas in a user-friendly manner.
- Willingness to learn with a positive attitude.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Monitor production incidents, problems, taking immediate action where possible and escalating when required. Interact with the operations and development staff to resolve problems and provide information.
- Analyze data, uncover information, derive insights, and propose data-driven strategies.
- Standardize, organize, and streamlinetasks and processes to create value and minimize risk.
- Provide technical and operational support for systems including but not limited to the following:
- IBM AIX servers for processing transactions.
- Microsoft Windows Servers
- Container Linux environments
- Oracle RDBMS – Run queries to satisfy information requests and troubleshooting issues.
- Failover and recovery operations between primary and secondary data centers.
- Daily operational processes and procedures.
- Standardizing and where appropriate automating operational procedures through operational checklists and/or scripting languages.
- Evaluates user needs, defines technical problems, and works with engineering/development staff to determine solutions.
- Assists customer in implementing solutions. Performs ongoing activities to maintain and enhance overall system performance.
- Quick response / action for items escalated to the support group via the Intralot Service Desk.
- Supports system and user acceptance testing activities including issue resolution to help complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Work with second and third level engineers to ensure all incidents in production are handled and resolved in a timely manner and keep the projects running at optimum capacity.
- Ability to collaborate with others to identify inefficiencies and process improvements. Embrace change and focus on continuous improvement.
- Supervise and train team members on technical and functional job duties.
- Manage and provide support for multiple projects/sites.
Up to 25% or more upon business requirements.
