The analyst translates complex RHTP data and analytical findings into clear, actionable dashboards, scorecards, infographics, and reports for internal and external stakeholders. The role designs and maintains user-friendly visualizations that align with enterprise business intelligence (BI) platforms and style guides, ensuring a consistent "single source of truth" for RHTP performance information.

The analyst works closely with the RHTP data infrastructure and data science positions, as well as the Department’s central analytics team to diverse audiences including CMS, state leadership, legislators, tribal governments, rural health providers, and community partners.

Responsibilities
  • Translate complex RHTP data and analytical findings into dashboards, scorecards, infographics, and reports.
  • Design and maintain user‑friendly visualizations aligned with enterprise BI platforms and style guides.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, data scientists, program staff, and external partners to define product needs and ensure accurate data representation.
  • Participate in department‑wide business intelligence and reporting communities of practice to promote data visualization best practices and reduce conflicting reports.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of basic concepts and metrics (e.g., rates, percentages, averages, trends, distributions) sufficient to accurately represent analytic results in visual form.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with data engineers, analysts, data scientists, program staff, and external partners to define product needs and ensure accurate representation of data.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with healthcare‑related data or public health metrics.
  • Familiarity with SQL for querying databases and creating custom data extracts for visualizations.
  • Experience with scripting or programming (e.g., R, Python) for automated report generation or advanced visualizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Public Health, Communications, Graphic Design, or a closely related field.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in data visualization, business intelligence, reporting, or data analysis in health care, government, consulting, or similar setting.
  • Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
