The Data Architect supports the Research, Analytics, and Planning Unit within the Innovation Bureau. This position plays a critical role in producing accurate high-quality data for high‑visibility reports, dashboards, and data products used by the Department, other state agencies, partner organizations, and the public. As a Data Architect, you’ll play a key role in delivering the Department’s data warehouse and supporting data driven decision making.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with audiences possessing varied levels of technical expertise. A meticulous approach to data integrity and security is essential.
- Develop, review, and maintain complex SQL queries, views, procedures, and functions within the Department’s data warehouse
- Model complex correctional data into logical schemas for multiple use cases
- Produce high‑quality data reports and visualizations
- Deliver timely and accurate data for internal and external requests
- Manage user access and data collection within the Department’s data warehouse
- Support the implementation of data security standards
- Maintain data shares between DOC internal and external partners
- Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology related field.
- Coursework related to database concepts, security principles, and data architecture.
- Four years of experience working in a database environment which includes the application of systems design and integration concepts.
