Job OverviewA Driver Examiner is a public-facing, customer service–driven position. Duties include greeting customers, answering questions, issuing , driver’s licenses, and commercial driver’s licenses, and overseeing the testing of those licenses. You will use multiple software programs requiring attention to detail. You will verify proper identification documents, ensure successful completion of tests, and determine when additional documentation is required. The incumbent must be willing and able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
There is day travel to other exam stations about 1-2 days a week and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year experience working with computerized data systems.
- One year customer service experience.
- One year of cash handling experience.
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) for testing and training purposes within the first year.
- Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The selection procedures to be used in evaluating the applicant's qualification may include, but are not limited to, an evaluation of the résumé, a structured interview, performance test, academic transcripts, reference/background checks, and fingerprint checks.
