As an Afternoon/Evening Custodian, you contribute to our mission by keeping the district's buildings in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the education program. You will work as part of a team of 70+ maintenance personnel serving nearly 8,000 students and 18 campuses across Helena.

• Assist in maintaining seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn) etc.
• Clean and preserve designated spaces, equipment etc. in the building.
• Restock disposable items and provide day maintenance person with inventory usage and data.
• Perform ongoing preventative maintenance and minor repair on plumbing, custodial equipment, building structure, and hardware.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Perform light maintenance as needed.
• Assist the visiting public utilizing school facilities with directions within the building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or materials.
• Maintain building and grounds security by closing the building each school day and during special events.

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Up to three (3) months of related experience and/or training;
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the District.

Essential functions of the position include the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning supplies, pails, and unloading trucks. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 100 pounds such as bulk furniture with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Entry level salary is $16.90 per hour ($35,152 per year not including available overtime) and includes a comprehensive benefit package consisting of 15 paid vacation leave days per full calendar year, up to 12 paid sick leave days per calendar year, 12 paid holidays, 2 paid personal days, a generous health benefit offering, and retirement.
