Claims Support Manager

Montana State Fund (MSF) is searching for a Claims Support Manager to help lead and strengthen our Claims Support operations. This position oversees the Medical Customer Service Liaison team and works alongside the other Claims Support Manager, who oversees the Claims Assistants and FROI team, to ensure aligned and effective support across all functions. T his position plays a key role in ensuring customers receive a positive, seamless experience and achieve the best possible outcomes.

The Claims Support Manager leads and develops Claims support roles and functions. By providing direct leadership and development, the Claims Support Manager equips them to deliver exceptional support at every touchpoint. The position includes training, coaching, performance management, and continuously improving our policies and processes to drive efficiency improvements while ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

• Leadership and team development: Hiring, coaching, mentoring, and identifying growth opportunities for direct reports. Manages the performance and growth of staff and assigns and delegates responsibilities as appropriate. Provides direction, vision, assistance, guidance, training, and special project coordination. Coordinates or directs the coordination of coverage as appropriate.
• Process execution and improvement: Collaborating with Insurance Services leadership, Claims leadership, and other departments to identify and implement efficiencies for insurance services support functions, benefiting both internal and external customers. This includes developing training and new services based on identified trends. Ensuring timely and professional communication across departments, partnering with claims staff to resolve issues, and supporting customer service enhancements.
• Special projects and additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years working in a customer service environment with production deadlines and quality control or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of one (1) year previous leadership or mentorship experience.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

• Medical Office experience.
• Workers' compensation insurance experience.

Fast paced general office environment.

Some stress may occur.

Regular travel not expected but may occur occasionally around organizational specific events or during the course of employment.

Requires sitting for extended periods of time, standing, visual acumen, manual dexterity, detailed verbal communications and fine finger manipulation for working with computer keyboards.

Starting salary for this exempt position begins at $75,800 - $94,500 per year.
