Brief Description
Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office is hiring a permanent fulltime Registered Nurse to work in the Detention Center. Under direction of the Detention Center Commander this position provides clinical services to the incarcerated population and health care provider support at the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center. Position is open until filled and applications will be reviewed weekly.
The Current Schedulefour (4), ten (10) hour shifts, either 7am - 5pm or 9am - 7pm. Work every 9th weekend and work 12 hour shift, 7am - 7pm. When working the weekend, then will work two (2), eight (8) hour shifts during the weekday, and the hours are typically 7am - 3pm.

It is comprised of over eighty employees including sworn officers, detention officers and professional support staff. The Sheriff's Office provides general law enforcement, detention functions, rural fire support and search and rescue operations for the citizens of Lewis & Clark County in a service area of over two million acres.
Additionally, this agency provides specialized regional services to the entire county and contract law enforcement to specific areas.

RequirementsThe knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are typically acquired through completion of an accredited nursing program and one (1) year medical office, hospital or clinic experience. Current Registered Nurse licensure in Montana and CPR certification required. Detention center nursing experience preferred, but not necessary.

Duties- Provides direct patient care to the incarcerated population and health care provider support;
- Prepares patients for examination;
- Conducts and documents initial health interview and all patient encounters;
- Administers kite program, obtains medical records from outside the facility and assists clinic providers with diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures;
- Documents all activities with the incarcerated population thoroughly;
- Administers injections and dispenses medications;
- Prepares and cleans equipment, exam and treatment room, performs quality controls on lab equipment and documents results and performs CLIA waived laboratory procedures;
