The Cook is responsible to provide appetizing and attractive meals for our residents. Because our residents deserve the best, you are held to a high standard for quality and customer service.
essential functions- Preparing foods for cooking
- Preparing salads
- Preparing desserts
- Working on the line during meal service.
- Uphold The Springs Living Values Card
- Attends all education and training classes, including as necessary to fulfill company expectations.
- Maintains positive relationships with co-workers, facility, residents, families and community, so that they serve as resources for one another.
- Adheres to community dress policy for culinary staff.
- Complete or Hold current food handler’s permit.
- Completes Choking/Heimlich Maneuver training.
Physical Demands and Requirements
- Maintain ability to lift 50 pounds; to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the work day; and to frequently push, pull, bend, twist, and reach
- Must have sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/handle items.
- Must also be able to walk throughout campus on frequent basis for extended periods of time. (Up to five hours)
- Involves light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous daily activities.
- May be exposed to bio hazardous materials including, but not limited to, blood and body fluids, sharps exposure, animal dander and latex.
