Job Duties:

** Campus police officers promote lawful behavior and protect the welfare of students, faculty and staff as a uniformed presence on campus##

* Qualifications:

*** High school diploma or GED.
* Certified as a law enforcement officer by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Standards Training Academy, or a similar academy, in accordance with ACA 12-9-106
* Possession of a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
* 3 to 5 years experience as an officer required.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
* Ability to successfully conduct security patrols without direct supervision.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Ability to complete routine paperwork.
* Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
* Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
* Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation.
* Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
* Skill in performing building security and lock procedures.
* Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety codes, regulations, and procedures.
* Skill in providing protection services to individuals on campus.
* Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
