Public Safety Assessment Coordinator (Position No. )

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for analyzing criminal record information from multiple sources to compile a risk score using the Public Safety Assessment (PSA) instrument. The position collects and analyzes court information for defendants, enters it into the PSA to determine risk for failure to appear or new violent offenses, and tracks case progress to evaluate program effectiveness.

• Complete the Laura and John Arnold Foundation’s Public Safety Assessment (PSA) to determine defendant suitability for release before trial.
• Analyze criminal history information via the Department of Justice Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) and Montana Judicial Branch Full Court records and enter data into the PSA.
• Prepare and submit the Auto Mon report for each defendant to present risk assessment to judge, defense, and prosecutor prior to the initial appearance.
• Document court release decisions and enter that information into Auto Mon.
• Perform data entry and track each defendant’s case progress related to pretrial outcomes.
• Assist in evaluating program effectiveness and assist with other PSA‑related tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and law enforcement.
• Operate CJIN terminal within Department of Justice regulations.

Part‑time (Wednesday 6:00 am – 12:00 pm, Thursday 6:00 am – 12:00 pm, Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm). Travel may be required up to 5 % of the time. Telework eligibility:

• Associate’s Degree in business administration, social science, criminal justice, legal studies, or related field plus two years of relevant work experience.
• Certification in Criminal Justice Information Network (CJIN) operations required.
• Strong technical skills in word and data processing programs.

$24.29 per hour.
