The roleAs an Electrical Fitter, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving electrical systems across a complex and high-profile defence estate. This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same — from routine maintenance to solving complex faults, your work will directly support operational readiness and site safety.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll be required to:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Identifying faults, defects and required alterations to maintain performance and reliability
- Supporting trades and collaborating with colleagues across maintenance teams
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety regulations, policies and procedures
- Suggesting improvements to systems and processes to enhance performance and efficiency.
This is a full‑time role working 36 hours per week, based on site at HMNB Clyde.
Essential experience- Demonstrating experience working with electrical systems, equipment and maintenance processes
- Applying knowledge of regulations, health and safety standards and documentation
- Carrying out electrical fault finding, repairs and installation work
- Working within controlled environments and following safe systems of work.
- SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Maintenance or equivalent qualification (essential)
- 2391 Test and Inspection qualification (advantageous)
The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
