About UsPaso Robles Tank, Inc., an Associated Construction & Engineering Company, is a nationally recognized leader in the design, fabrication, and construction of welded steel water storage tanks throughout the Western United States. We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Professional to lead our safety initiatives in both manufacturing and field construction operations.
This is a full-time exempt salaried position offering excellent compensation, advancement opportunities, and the ability to make a measurable impact on employee safety and operational excellence.
What You'll DoThe Construction Safety Professional is responsible for leading, implementing, and continuously improving the Company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Program.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct manufacturing and construction jobsite safety inspections
- Ensure OSHA and Cal/OSHA compliance
- Perform accident, incident, and near-miss investigations
- Develop corrective action plans and monitor completion
- Conduct employee safety orientation and ongoing training
- Lead toolbox safety meetings
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
- Audit fall protection, confined space, crane, rigging, welding, excavation, and heavy equipment operations
- Assist with workers' compensation investigations and return-to-work programs
- Prepare safety reports, inspections, and compliance documentation
- Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices
- Recommend improvements to company safety policies and procedures
- Partner with executive leadership to achieve continuous improvement in safety performance
This position supports:
- Manufacturing and support operations at our Hemet facility
- Multiple heavy industrial and commercial construction projects
- Structural steel erection and welded steel water storage tank construction
- Construction operations throughout Southern and Central California and the Southwest
Travel is typically 2-3 overnight trips per week.
Typical travel includes:
- Bakersfield
- Los Angeles Basin
- Inland Empire
- Orange County
- San Diego
- Imperial Valley
- Palm Springs
- Yuma, Arizona
- Phoenix Metropolitan Area
- Tucson
- Las Vegas (as required)
- New Mexico
All company travel expenses are paid, including:
- Company vehicle
- Fuel
- Hotels
- Daily meal per diem
- 5+ years of construction safety experience
- Experience in heavy construction, industrial construction, structural steel, steel fabrication, manufacturing, or similar industries
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Professional report-writing and computer skills
- Valid California driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to travel overnight as required
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, tanks, and elevated work areas
