Job Title:
Occupational Therapist
Provides differential diagnosis for patients with functional disorders, writes reports to contracted facilities and patients’ physicians, plans, organizes, and conducts therapy programs in hospital, institutional, or community settings to rehabilitate those impaired by illness, injury, or psychological or developmental problems. Assists the patient, family, and restorative personnel to obtain information for recovery. Interacts regularly with the rehabilitation team and nursing staff on treatment plans, progress, and prognosis.
Evaluates patients’ progress and prepares detailed reports. Assures all required documentation is completed and appropriately placed in a timely manner.
- Establishes and carries out treatment programs based on diagnostic information to meet patients’ ADL needs.
- Maintains good rapport with nursing and administrative personnel across facilities.
- Submits logs and all billing information on a timely basis.
- Reports any problem areas within each facility to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
- Complies with the State Licensing Board of California, Title 22, CMS, and California Labor Board guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Licensure/Certification:
Must have a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Occupational Therapy or a related field plus 5 years of experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Occupational Therapy or a related field with no experience and licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of California.
