The Shift Leader is responsible for assisting the General Manager or Person In Charge (on duty) with management activities and duties. This role collaborates with the Restaurant Management Team to ensure all activities align with and support the restaurant’s business plan. It also involves ensuring that all Crew Persons and Team Leaders perform their responsibilities effectively and meet job expectations.

Essential Functions
  • Consistently provides quality products and customer service to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Works to improve the skills and performance of all Crew Persons.
  • Supports efforts to maximize sales and profits while minimizing controllable costs by assisting management and leading shift activities.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures regarding business and personnel practices.
  • Models and promotes company shared values.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills with internal and external contacts.
  • Attends training to stay current on industry trends.
  • Participates in company meetings, webinars, and conference calls.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as needed in response to changing business conditions.
Position Qualifications / Core Competencies
  • Approximately 2-3 years of experience and/or education demonstrating knowledge of restaurant management.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Strong team-building skills.
  • Investigative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cash handling issues.
  • Reliable personal transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
  • Reliable communication methods, such as a telephone, and availability to meet restaurant needs.
  • Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements for positive business results.
Work Environment

Fast-paced setting involving kitchen equipment in confined spaces.

Physical Demands
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Bend and stoop.
  • Work around heat.
  • Lift 50-75 lbs. comfortably.
  • Handle various cleaning products.
