Assets Protection (AP) teams work to keep our guests, team members, and brand secure, leading through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing and resolving theft and fraud to ensure product is available for guests. They build relationships inside and outside of Target, including store leaders and public safety officials, including law enforcement. • Use intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure.
• Respond to crisis events, safety and crowd management situations, providing support to guests and team members.
• De‑escalate situations using physical security controls and culture.
• Operate Target’s video surveillance system.
• Document cases accurately and in a timely manner using case management systems.
• Promote a physical security culture by assessing and maintaining safe standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
• Respond to and accurately document security incidents, providing a safe environment for guests and team members.
• Leverage de‑escalation tactics and resources when responding to incidents across the store.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed, adhering to AP policies.
• Prevent theft and shortage at the front of store by performing merchandise receipt checks while adhering to AP policies.
• Submit documentation in the case management system for all incidents following AP policy and procedures.
• Use Target’s video surveillance system appropriately.
• Maintain ethical conduct, safety, and compliance at all times.
• Work safely, following all safety policies, mandatory mand erings, and reporting hazards.

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or legal requirements related to the position.
• Friendly and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Effective communication skills, including multiple frequency devices and handheld scanners.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, prioritizing tasks and managing workload.
• Remain composed in a fast‑paced environment, accomplishing multiple tasks within established time frames.
• Climb ladders and handle merchandise up to 40 pounds without assistance.
• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
• Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements, remaining mobile for the duration of the shift.
