Summary

About the Team and the Program:
The Pathway Gap Resource & Training Manager works within the Department of Community Engagement and Postsecondary Pathways (CEPP) at New Visions for Public Schools. Our vision is that every young person in New York City can clearly see, navigate, and access best‑fit career pathways, supported by shared civic infrastructure that helps the adults advising them guide the way.

About the Role

The Pathway Gap Resource & Training Manager will be the key operational partner for the project's practitioner capacity‑building work. The manager will hold primary responsibility for the educator navigational compass tool, which includes curating resources, developing implementation trainings, managing user communications, and ensuring the tool stays accessible and continuously improves for practitioners. The role also serves as a bridge between program expertise and digital product development, partnering with New Visions' technical team to create and improve open‑access websites for youth‑serving professionals, and supporting systems coordination work through collaboration, partnership and feedback.

Core

Responsibilities

1. Pathway Educator Navigational Tool

  • Tool development:
Engage with practitioners to gather, synthesize and translate programmatic needs, user feedback, and committee input related to the Resource Hub features, training, and educator workflows into clear, functional and well‑documented requirements for new tool features or updates, in partnership with the project lead and the technology team.
  • Content Curation and Quality Control:
Lead the ongoing identification, review, and addition of resources to the tool, applying quality standards developed in partnership with the Quality and Standards Committee to ensure all materials are accurate, relevant, and appropriately matched to practitioner needs; and ensure the development of clear contextual guidance for use.
  • Content expertise and landscape familiarity:
Stay abreast of trends in the career advising and pathways navigation field, including familiarity with NYCPS and other frameworks for postsecondary advisement and career readiness, interest in and understanding of how AI is shifting and shaping career navigation and career choice; and research into young people’s views on career and postsecondary advisement.

2. Practitioner Training & Tool Adoption

  • Training Development & Delivery:
Design and develop a suite of training materials and resources to support practitioner adoption of the toolkit, including technical orientation (how to navigate the site and use its features), applied professional development (how to use tool resources in direct work with students), and practitioner experience (surfacing what’s working in the field, what gaps exist, and what resources practitioners find most useful).

Directly, and in collaboration with partners, plan and facilitate trainings for practitioners encompassing school‑based counselors, CBOs, and direct service organizations serving out of school youth, adapting content and format for different audiences, contexts, and levels of experience.
  • Field Support and Feedback:
Serve as the primary point of contact for practitioner users, managing the help desk, coordinating the development of user support resources, and maintaining a structured process for gathering feedback and user experience. Synthesize and translate that feedback to improve content, ensure that tool development priorities remain grounded in practitioner experience, and use it to inform reporting to the Associate Director of Pathway Gap and funders.
  • Communications & Engagement:
Drive user adoption metrics through targeted outreach and feedback loops; and manage the production of newsletters and other content for external communications, working in close collaboration with the New Visions marketing team and Pathway Gap coordinating team.

3. Coalition Governance Support

  • Committee Mobilization:
Partner with the project lead to manage the operations of the cross‑organizational Quality and Standards Committee, including leading relevant monthly subcommittees, and supporting the planning and execution of three annual…
