Campus Visit Coordinator
Reporting to the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admission, the Assistant Director of Campus Visit manages the visitor experience for Hofstra University's Office of Undergraduate Admission. This individual interacts with a wide variety of constituents, including faculty, administrators, alumni, current students, prospective students, and their families. As a member of the Admissions Team, this position is expected to work some nights and weekends to assist with campus events.
This is a full time role.
CHARACTERISTIC
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the various campus visit programs, which includes but is not limited to the following: information session and tours, the Hofstra UpClose program, group visits, and on-campus recruitment programs.
- Oversees the creation and implementation of new and existing programming, including first-year, transfer, and school counselor visit programs and events.
- Directly manages a graduate assistant and approximately 70 paid student employees—providing supervision, training, mentorship, and professional development.
- Develops relationships with various campus partners to help create memorable experiences for all visitors.
- Serves as the primary liaison for on-campus programs, including collaboration with colleges/schools, faculty and administrators.
- Provides oversight of the Office of Undergraduate Admission's reception area, and will work to ensure visitors are provided with exceptional customer service.
- Willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference, and the NCAA.
- Performs other related duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required. One-year of higher education, admission, campus visit, and event planning experience. Participation in a structured onboarding training program, including several weeks of shadowing current on-call staff to gain exposure to a range of incident response scenarios. Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and problem solve. Strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative, oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree. Familiarity with computerized admission systems such as Ellucian Banner and Slate. Working knowledge of PC-based word processing and spreadsheet programs.
