Assistant Professor of ABA and Special Education
Hofstra University School of Education is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Education. Specifically, we are seeking candidates in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis with a focus on advocacy, diversity, dignity, equity, and inclusion.
The responsibilities of the Assistant Professor in ABA and Special Education will include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Applied Behavior Analysis and Special Education across in-person, hybrid, and online modalities.
- Advising, supervising, and mentoring behavior analyst and special education teacher candidates in practicum and student teaching placements.
- Engaging in and leading research, scholarship, and other scholarly and professional endeavors that advance the mission and values of the School of Education.
- Pursuing external research funding and grant opportunities.
- Providing service to the department, college, university, and professional community.
- Supporting efforts to create an inclusive environment for faculty, staff, students, and community members.
Qualifications include an earned doctorate in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution. Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and maintains or is eligible for NYS Licensure in Behavior Analysis (LBA) is required. Evidence of expertise in both applied behavior analysis and special education utilizing evidence-based practices and inclusive pedagogical approaches is necessary.
