The Department of Music at Hofstra University invites applications for an adjunct faculty member to begin in the Fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be teaching Independent Studies (MUS
151) in the area of music production. Instruction consists of thirteen (13) sessions per student over the course of the 15-week semester. The pay varies according to the number of course credits (1, 2, or
3). Each credit corresponds to 750 minutes per semester.

Master's degree in music or equivalent degrees preferred. 5 years + of related professional experience working in recording studios and music production. Significant portfolio of music productions in various musical genres. Deep knowledge of the use of audio mixers, workhorse audio equipment, wireless systems, and instrument amplification, and microphones. Sound communication and interpersonal skills required. The ability to work well with diverse audiences, manage workload independently at times, and oversee ongoing projects concurrently.

Basic familiarity with large consoles (preferably SSLOrigin), Pro Tools, and Logic. Ability to play and record diverse instruments.

* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
