The Nurse promotes a safe and therapeutic environment for all clients at Brite Life Recovery, maintaining therapeutic relationships without chaotic staffing ratios common in hospital settings. There are no bedpans, IVs, or bed alarms; clients perform their own ADLs.
What tasks are required?Assist clinical team with the Admissions process.
Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to standard nursing practices and facility policies.
Carry out a plan of care and medication orders from physicians and nurse practitioners.
Educate clients regarding potential side effects of medications and observe for side effects.
Monitor clients for substance misuse related withdrawal symptoms.
Maintain electronic health records (EHR).
Provide crisis management related to intoxicated clients.
Promote Brite Life Recovery to prospective clients and employees.
Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy.
Ensure quality of care by adhering to DHEC standards of practice and facility standards of care.
Assist with solving resident problems by working with the interdisciplinary team.
Current LPN or RN license in good standing in New York.
Experience with documentation and data entry within an EHR.
Experience working with alcohol or substance use treatment (preferred).
Demonstrated computer proficiency.
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
Professional customer service skills and ability to interact with staff and clients.
Ability to assess needs and deliver nursing services to individuals detoxifying from substance use.
Ability to screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms.
Ability to screen for danger to self or others.
Ability to analyze and interpret data to determine nursing recommendations and priorities.
Adherence to ethical and professional standards of conduct.
Participation in continuing professional development.
Understanding of toxicology testing procedures and their benefits and limitations.
Knowledge of strategies for treating alcohol, cocaine, and other drug use; knowledge of medication-assisted therapy.
Ability to provide education to individuals and groups about substance use.
Knowledge of accepted principles of client record management.
The sign-on bonus will be paid in three installments:
50% – Paid with the first paycheck.
25% – Paid upon satisfactory completion of ninety (90) days of employment.
25% – Paid upon satisfactory completion of one (1) year of employment.
Eligibility for each installment is contingent upon meeting performance and conduct expectations. The signing bonus is forfeited if the employee does not report to work on the first day, and the initial two payments must be repaid if the employee does not satisfactorily complete 6 months of employment.
