Duties and Responsibilities- Utilize an appropriate variety of material and activities to facilitate lesson objectives.
- Concentrate on accomplishing a high rate of time on task with students who are engaged in instructional involvement.
- Demonstrate a caring attitude in association with students.
- Utilize effective questioning techniques in the instructional process.
- Incorporate effective motivational strategies in working with students.
- Actively and continuously monitor student learning and assume responsibility for current student progress.
- Assume responsibility for the behavior of students in the classroom and work toward a positive and productive teacher‑student relationship.
- Comply with all board and school building policies and procedures.
- Work within the philosophical framework of the school board, building and departmental assignments.
- Attend all regular and special faculty meetings unless prevented by personal illness or excused by the principal.
- Take part in curriculum research, study groups, and other activities related to the profession, without affecting classroom work.
- Maintain a high standard of professional dress while employed.
- Demonstrate acceptable mastery of the written and spoken word.
- Prepare lesson plans directly related to the objectives being taught and keep current and available for substitutes.
- Practice a friendly and cooperative attitude with students, colleagues, parents, and superiors.
- Assume a reasonable share of extended school activities and demonstrate willingness to participate in school/community affairs.
- Develop an understanding and concern for the academic and social welfare of students.
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom conducive to learning.
- Direct student learning at a rate commensurate with student capability.
- Assist students to make up work missed due to legitimate absences.
- Use acceptable discipline methods in compliance with board and school policies.
- Strive to understand all sides of a problem before administering discipline.
- Set an example before pupils and avoid any prejudice against individuals or minority groups.
- Welcome opportunities to discuss with parents/guardians the problems or progress of students.
- Respect rights of parents/guardians regarding welfare and development of students.
- Maintain high standards of conduct and attitudes at all times.
- Take advantage of professional development opportunities related to instructional improvement.
- Accept outside employment only when it does not interfere with duties and is not detrimental to status with pupils or colleagues.
Full‑Time
Other Requirements- Bachelor degree preferred.
