An exciting opportunity to join the Finance Senior Leadership Team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and help shape the financial future of one of the NHS’s largest teaching hospitals.
This is a strategic role with Trust-wide influence. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Finance Officer, you will lead financial planning and reporting, provide trusted advice to senior leaders, and influence major decisions across the Trust. You will also lead and develop high-performing finance teams, support continuous improvement and help ensure resources deliver the greatest benefit for patients.
We are looking for a CCAB-qualified, values-led finance leader with substantial senior experience in a large, complex organisation and the credibility to influence at Board and executive level.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest teaching hospitals in the NHS as well as an award winning Finance team, with a recently renewed level 3 towards excellence (FFF) accreditation.
You will work closely with senior clinical and operational leaders, lead a team of finance professionals and have the opportunity to influence key decisions affecting large and complex services.

As Director of Finance (Operational), you will:

• Lead the Trust’s Financial Planning and Reporting team and provide leadership to senior finance colleagues.
• Shape and maintain the Trust’s long-term financial model, annual financial plan and budget-setting process.
• Lead high-quality monthly and annual financial reporting, including information presented to the Board, Trust committees, executive leaders and external organisations.
• Provide authoritative, impartial advice on budgets, business cases, financial performance, organisational risk and major service changes.
• Strengthen financial benchmarking, business intelligence and insight into productivity and efficiency opportunities.
• Interpret national policy, guidance and legislation, assessing the implications for the Trust and supporting effective implementation.
• Work closely with clinical, operational, workforce and finance leaders across the Trust and with partners across West Yorkshire.
• Deputise for the Deputy Chief Finance Officer where appropriate.
• Create an inclusive, empowered and continuously improving finance function in which colleagues can thrive and develop.
