- Must be proficient in typing and/or operation of data processing equipment, including stand-alone, surface/tablet, and network terminals.
- Knowledge of investigative methods, practice and procedures; federal and state laws; case preparation techniques; agency policies and procedures; effective oral communication; and, interviewing.
- Ability to comprehend complicated program rules and regulations and take appropriate action; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; use proper research methods in gathering data; gather, collate & classify information; calculate fractions, decimals and percentages; handle sensitive inquiries from and contacts with officials and the general public.
- Ability to present testimony in judicial and/or local/state administrative hearings.

Collects information and makes determination of necessary actions regarding the establishment and/or enforcement of court orders (e.g., contempt, arrears, emancipations, credits, wage with holdings, over payments, entries, agreed entries, FIDM, liens, drivers’ license suspension, bench warrants, administrative and judicial processes, IRS offset, criminal non-support, and Interstate.) Establishes paternity, support, and medical support orders. Modify support orders. Utilizes location techniques and/or conduct thorough investigations.
Collects evidence and information by interviewing clients and witnesses, request and document types of service, and a variety of other investigative techniques. Conducts case investigations and collateral investigations with various local, state and federal agencies. Investigative work performed at the agency. Completes reports to manage caseload and collection activity. Responds to customer inquiries. Provides necessary consultation with caseworkers, attorneys, other jurisdictions and supervisors.
Uses internal computer systems (CMD/EDMS/OBWP and/or SETS) and system reports to retrieve and research information; and performs data entry to transfer cases within the SETS system. Enter data into CMD for follow up on pending work responsibilities.
