Performs mammographic procedures at a technical level requiring limited supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing existing standards as a guide. Demonstrates the ability to utilize independent judgment in the completion of routine exams/procedures. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required including breast ultrasound, dexascan and specialized breast imaging interventions:
Sterotactic Biopsy, Ultrasound Core Biopsy and Cyst Aspiration.
- Assesses for accuracy of orders and examinations.
- Utilizes skills and equipment pertinent to obtaining quality mammography, images and bone density imaging.
- Performs quality control on all equipment accurately and thoroughly.
- Educates patients regarding examinations to be performed and general breast care.
- Performs clerical/support functions as assigned.
- Utililizes management information (PACS, Magview) appropriately and accurately.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
