REMELT & FORKLIFT OPERATOR – 2nd SHIFTGibbs Die Casting Corporation is looking for a dependable Remelt & Forklift Operator to help keep our production operation running safely and efficiently. In this role, you'll operate powered industrial equipment, manage aluminum materials, and supply our casting presses with the molten aluminum they need to produce quality die-cast products.
This is an important hands-on role in our manufacturing process—and a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with equipment, staying active, and being part of a team.
What You'll Do- Operate a forklift and other powered industrial equipment to move aluminum, scrap, and materials throughout the operation.
- Monitor and maintain proper metal temperatures in remelt and holding furnaces.
- Add the appropriate amounts of scrap metal and ingots to furnaces.
- Perform fluxing, skimming, and de-gassing procedures to maintain aluminum quality.
- Safely transport molten aluminum to holding furnaces at casting presses.
- Collect and transport scrap metal from trim presses to the remelt furnaces for reuse.
- Maintain an adequate supply of aluminum to support casting operations.
- Maintain and organize raw materials using the FIFO system.
- Monitor furnace and press temperature alarms and take appropriate action when needed.
- Follow all safety, environmental, health, and quality requirements, including required PPE.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance and work overtime when assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of manufacturing experience using powered industrial equipment, such as a forklift.
- Current Gibbs powered industrial equipment license or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to work safely in a hot manufacturing environment around furnaces and equipment.
- Ability to meet the physical and environmental requirements of the position.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and dependable attendance.
- Competitive Pay: $20–$22 per hour
- Consistent 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
