Occupational Safety and Health; OSH) Specialist

First Division Consulting provides program management, acquisition, logistics, field service representation, explosive ordnance disposal, and personnel support services to Department of Defense and federal government agencies. This small business offers a supportive work environment.

This position is seeking an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) professional to support the safety and health management needs of a large federal agency. The role is remote with occasional travel (up to 25%) to Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, and Virginia.

• Perform safety audits, inspections, and evaluations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide safety and health assistance to management, supervisors, employees, and collateral duty safety representatives.
• Complete incident reports and enter findings into safety management systems.
• Provide specialty safety services and assessments including ergonomics and industrial hygiene.
• Develop and deliver customer training in one‑on‑one, group, classroom, and web‑delivered formats.
• Provide outreach to agency employees, promoting safety awareness throughout the organization.
• Investigate complaints and reports of unsafe or unhealthful working conditions; recommend abatement action and verify completion.
• Maintain recordkeeping for injury/illness cases in accordance with OSHA requirements.

• Active Public Trust clearance; successful DHS/TSA background investigation and clearance process.
• Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental health, health physics, or another safety‑related field, plus 2–5 years of relevant occupational safety and health experience.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, including 29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926, 29 CFR 1904, and 29 CFR 1960.
• Additional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are highly desired.

• Experience supporting federal program managers and excellent customer engagement skills.
• Ability to monitor and track program/project performance and support reporting requirements.
• Ability to analyze and present technical data to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience developing and providing health and safety training, both classroom and web‑based.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong skills with Microsoft Office software and utilization of information systems.
