Retail Associate/ Customer Service, Cashier
About the Role
As a Cashier, you play an essential role in the customer service experience by providing fast and friendly service. You will process transactions, answer questions, and ensure customers leave feeling positive.
You may also be assigned as a sales associate or merchandiser/stock associate. Internally you are referred to as Front End Team Member and report to the store management team.
Responsibilities- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including identification verification, payment handling, answering inquiries, promoting loyalty program, and bagging products.
- Deliver exceptional service and a personalized experience by greeting customers, engaging to build relationships, and informing about products and services.
- Participate in wine, spirits, and beer training to build product knowledge.
- Maintain knowledge of advertisements, promotions, and loyalty programs.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the store.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
- Complete cross‑functional responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
If this position is seasonal, it is short term and not longer than six months.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent; preferred.
- 1‑3 years of work experience, 1+ years in a retail setting preferred.
- Passion for best‑in‑class customer service and team‑player mindset.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and inventory management software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends.
- Physical requirements:
must be 21 years of age or older, walk, bend, and be on feet 8‑10 hours a day; safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets; climb ladders and lift 50lb. overhead. - May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions during the workday.
