Part‑Time Criminal Court Researcher

Seeking a Part‑Time Criminal Court Researcher in Kentucky (Daviess & Henderson Counties). Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and live within 30 minutes of the courthouse in Daviess or Henderson County with a valid driver’s license.

Location: Daviess & Henderson Counties Courthouse (Owensboro or Henderson, KY).

Work Schedule: 20 hours a week, approximately 4 hours per day Monday‑Friday. Hours may vary within morning courthouse hours (e.g., 8am‑1pm Central Time).

Compensation: $16–17 USD per hour. Temporary gas stipend of $200 per jurisdiction monthly. Company supplies laptop, printer/scanner/fax machine and reimburses personal cell phone usage.

Responsibilities
  • Travel to assigned courthouses to research and review criminal and/or civil public record information from onsite electronic access court systems. Perform additional research as required from applicable websites.
  • Interpret court records and other relevant information from courts and state agencies, documenting, editing, and modifying search results. May directly contact courts and agencies for additional information to ensure compliance.
  • Provide accurate and detailed results and case information obtained from court repositories to CRRG via database integration or email.
  • Conduct criminal background checks using various electronic public access systems at criminal court houses.
  • Utilize public access criminal court record information via phone, fax, web, Wi‑Fi to conduct criminal history searches.
  • Verify information for criminal records and forward results via scanning and uploading search results.
  • Investigate and provide updates on new or improved methods for performing criminal background checks.
Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel daily to the courthouse(s).
  • Resident within a 30‑minute commute to the courthouses.
  • Reliable home Wi‑Fi access and a document shredder.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience reading legal documentation, high‑level administrative work, and legal court research preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure with time‑sensitive projects.
  • Accuracy and detail orientation, ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Prioritize and structure daily tasks according to demand.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and research skills.
  • Capable of working independently while taking direction well.
