You will play a critical role in strengthening the financial foundation of a premier fire-life safety company. By managing accounts receivable collections and full-cycle accounts payable, you will directly safeguard cash flow to support life‑saving project deployments. This position offers the autonomy to own key accounting functions while collaborating with an expert team that values integrity and accountability.
How You Will Make An Impact- Lead daily collections activities for assigned accounts to systematically reduce past‑due balances and optimize company cash flow.
- Maintain and analyze the accounts receivable aging report to identify payment trends, high‑risk accounts, and priority follow‑up items.
- Resolve complex billing disputes, short payments, and skipped invoices by partnering directly with project managers and operations teams.
- Review essential construction documentation, including lien waivers and retention billing, to ensure accurate submission and accelerate payment timelines.
- Process vendor invoices utilizing two‑way and three‑way matching systems to ensure precise general ledger and job‑cost allocation.
- Support month‑end and year‑end close procedures by preparing comprehensive financial reports and assisting with audit readiness.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands‑on accounting experience focusing on collections, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Demonstrated experience independently managing customer accounts, reviewing aging reports, and driving payment follow‑up to completion.
- Strong working knowledge of full‑cycle accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, PO matching, and vendor reconciliations.
- Proficiency with mainstream accounting systems like Quick Books alongside advanced data sorting and reporting skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Prior accounting experience within a construction, fire protection, subcontractor, or service‑based environment.
- Deep familiarity with construction billing workflows, including progress billing, change orders, Schedule of Values, and preliminary notices.
- Experience managing a high volume of transactions with a proven track record of maintaining strict documentation accuracy.
