As a Supervisor of Copper Splicing at VCI Construction, your role involves supervising employees in the preparation, splicing, and enclosing of copper and telecommunications plants. This position requires a strong working knowledge of telecommunications network structures, as well as significant experience with copper.
What You’ll Do- Supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing projects are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications. This includes ensuring that all needed tools and equipment are available at the job site, working from engineered blueprints, and keeping track of production.
- Supervise, train, and develop a team of copper splicers.
- Control/oversee the work of splicing teams, maintaining safety as a priority.
- Fill out daily production reports, mark‑up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built" maps for areas built.
- Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.
- Perform quality control inspections by reviewing work completed by employees and/or subcontractors.
- Maintain and enforce company, federal and state rules and regulations, such as non‑discriminatory practices, payroll and overtime guidelines, etc.
- Administer appropriate corrective disciplinary actions and prepare supporting documentation to address employee performance and/or behavioral issues.
- Willing to work nights, weekends by phone and/or in person.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience; 4‑year degree preferred.
- Previous supervisory and/or managerial experience.
- Advanced analytical, project management, and communication skills.
- Must be effective in leading team efforts, providing recommendations, giving presentations, etc.
- Provide verifiable evidence of experience in the construction or related fields.
- Be able to perform any necessary equipment installation.
- Pass background and drug screen requirements.
- Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Standing, 2 to 4 hours daily
- Walking, 2 to 4 hours daily
- Sitting, 2 to 4 hours daily
- Lift & Carry (weights of 50 to 60 lbs.)
