The Safety Coordinator is a demanding and critical role within the Henderson, NV office, and a great opportunity to be part of the team that will establish Team Fishel as the leader in utility construction in the area!

The responsibilities of the Safety Coordinator include: conducting safety operation training, safety training programs and updating and maintaining training programs to improve the safety of telecommunications, natural gas distribution, and electrical distribution operations. This position also includes conducting routine safety visits to enforce safety policies, while identifying specific job hazards and precautions at various job site locations.

The successful candidate must work well in a team environment, and be comfortable collaborating with local, regional, and national Safety Coordinators, in order to accomplish our #1 core value of being Accident-Free
.

• Oversee and coordinate Safety Supplies Inventory
• Conduct and coordinate classroom and field training meetings as needed
• Maintain condition and operational integrity of Emergency Response equipment
• Conduct Routine Job Site Safety Visits
• Investigate reportable accidents, injuries and job damages
• Create and present on monthly safety topics
• Serve as a member of Incident Investigation committees on an "as needed" basis

• Prior or oriented experience in safety
• Ability to perform audits and document findings of company procedures and practices
• Must be an effective communicator, and computer literate with familiarity of MS Office

• Related field experience in safety coaching, mentoring and training for Telecommunications, Natural Gas, and/or Electric operations
• Current certifications in OSHA 500 and 510, and is qualified to teach OSHA 10 standards
• Know industry safety practices: NESC, DOT, PHMSA, OSHA regulations and guidelines
• Certified and trained in Red Cross first aid, blood borne pathogens, CPR, HAZCOM, PPE, Fall Protection, Confined Space, and Smith Driving Systems

Bilingual experience is a plus

Team Fishel will provide on-the-job training in all areas of safety, including flagging certification, tool operation and maintenance.
