Civils Lead

Project: $4B Gold Mining Project

We are seeking an experienced Civils Lead – Groundworks / Earthworks & Dewatering to support the successful delivery of a major $4B gold mining project in Nevada. This is a critical site leadership role responsible for managing all civil construction, bulk earthworks, water management, and dewatering activities across a large-scale mining construction program.

• Lead and coordinate all civil construction activities including bulk earthworks, excavation, grading, roads, drainage, foundations, underground utilities, and site infrastructure.
• Oversee water management and dewatering operations including diversion systems, temporary pumping, groundwater control, sediment management, and stormwater mitigation.
• Manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Coordinate excavation and dewatering sequencing to support safe and efficient construction execution.
• Ensure compliance with engineering specifications, environmental regulations, permits, and mining standards.
• Monitor site conditions relating to groundwater, runoff, erosion control, and water handling infrastructure.
• Interface closely with engineering, HSE, environmental, planning, and project management teams to drive construction progress.
• Review construction methodologies, work packs, schedules, and risk assessments related to earthworks and water management activities.
• Track productivity, quantities, equipment utilization, and contractor performance.
• Identify construction risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize delays and operational impacts.
• Lead progress meetings, reporting, forecasting, and stakeholder coordination activities.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure strict adherence to all site HSE procedures and environmental controls.

• Extensive experience leading civil construction works on large mining, infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.
• Strong technical background in bulk earthworks, excavation, grading, drainage, water management, and dewatering systems.
• Experience managing groundwater control and temporary/permanent dewatering operations on large-scale construction sites.
• Previous mining project experience highly preferred.
• Proven ability managing large contractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field execution, and environmental compliance.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced mega-project environment with complex logistical challenges.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred.
