Senior Estimator – Henderson, NV

Tutor Perini Building Corp is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our office in Henderson, NV.

• Coordinate with the other Estimators in the assignment of project related responsibilities from conceptual estimating to preparation of GMPs.
• Quantify, analyze, and disseminate to the project estimating team the detailed project program (work breakdown structure, room counts, functions, areas, etc.) during a project kick‑off meeting.
• Review, interpret, quantify, and accurately estimate cost in accordance with the project documents.
• Identify and mitigate project related risk through strategic buyout and budget contingencies.
• Solicit, collect, and critically analyze subcontractor/vendor budgets, bids or quotations associated with assigned projects or packages.
• Review and verify scope of work and pricing (subcontractor analysis sheets) of other project team members when acting as the project lead estimator.
• Present the project scope of work, estimated costs, risks and opportunities to executive management during the final review of assigned estimates.
• Participate in the presentation of proposals, budgets, etc. to clients and prospective clients.
• Coordinate the delivery of appropriate project files for assigned projects to operations staff during a project turnover meeting using the turnover meeting agenda and checklist.
• Participate and coordinate participation of the project estimating team in the buyout process with operations.
• Complete all required paperwork for bids or proposals (such as bid forms, bonding requirements, etc.).
• Provide support to the project operations team for change‑order estimating, extended buyout after contract or turnover to operations team, and other estimating support as required.
• Assist in development, training, coaching, and orientation of new estimators.
• Visit Tutor Perini project sites as frequently as practical to observe construction operations at various phases and become familiar with jobsite logistics, means and methods, and operations personnel.
• Be involved in pre‑construction training programs, becoming proficient in all aspects of pre‑construction.

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering or construction management or a similar field from an accredited institution and 8+ years of relevant estimating, project management and/or construction experience.
• 5 or more years of experience estimating for projects in the building sector.
• Previous estimating experience on projects between $50–$100million in value.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively solicit and work with individual project owner’s representatives, material suppliers and subcontractors in pre‑bid estimate preparations and post‑bid negotiations.
• Capable of effectively working within a cohesive estimating team to facilitate comprehensive cost proposals and conclude efforts during team reviews on major projects.
• Previous experience in alternative delivery methods such as design/build.
• Experience in estimating software tools such as On‑Center and Timberline or similar.
