Senior Estimator

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our office in Henderson, NV. Reporting to the Vice President Preconstruction, you will coordinate with other estimators and manage project estimating from conceptual through GMP preparation.

• Coordinate with other estimators in assignment of project responsibilities from conceptual estimating to preparation of GMPs.
• Quantify, analyze, and disseminate the detailed project program (work breakdown structure, room counts, functions, areas, etc.) during a project kick‑off meeting.
• Review, interpret, quantify, and accurately estimate cost in accordance with the project documents.
• Identify and mitigate project‑related risk through strategic buyout and budget contingencies.
• Solicit, collect and critically analyze Subcontractor/Vendor budgets, bids or quotations associated with assigned projects or packages.
• Review and verify Scope of Work and pricing (Subcontractor Analysis Sheets) of other project team members when acting as the project lead estimator.
• Present the project scope of work, estimated costs, risks and opportunities to executive management during the final review of assigned estimates.
• Participate in the presentation of proposals, budgets, etc. to clients and prospective clients.
• Coordinate the delivery of appropriate project files for assigned projects to Operations Staff during a project turnover meeting using the Turnover Meeting Agenda and Checklist.
• Participate and coordinate participation of project estimating team in the buyout process with operations.
• Complete all required paperwork for bids or proposals (such as bid forms, bonding requirements, etc.).
• Provide support to Project Operations Team for Change Order estimating, extended buyout after Contract or turnover to Operations Team and other estimating support as required.
• Assist in development training, coaching, and orientation of new estimators.
• Visit project sites as frequently as practical to observe construction operations at various phases and become familiar with job‑site logistics, means and methods, and Operations personnel.
• Be involved in preconstruction Training Programs, becoming proficient in all aspects of preconstruction.

• Bachelor's degree preferably in engineering or construction management or similar from an accredited institution and 8+ years of relevant estimating, project management and / or construction experience.
• 5 or more years' experience estimating for projects in the buildings sector.
• Previous estimating experience on projects between $50‑$100M in value.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively solicit and work with individual project owner's representatives, material suppliers and subcontractors in pre‑bid estimate preparations and post‑bid negotiations.
• Capable of effectively working within a cohesive estimating team to facilitate comprehensive cost proposals and conclude efforts during team reviews on major projects.
• Previous experience in alternative delivery methods such as design/build.
• Experience in estimating software tools On‑Center and Timberline or similar.
