Position: Senior Estimator          at Spencer Ogden        in        Henderson,        Nevada

Senior Estimator - Foundations | Electrical Infrastructure & Heavy Civil

A leading utility and infrastructure contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to support the continued growth of its foundation construction operations across the electrical infrastructure market. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator with knowledge of drilled shafts, shallow foundations and concrete flatwork to take ownership of complex bids and help shape the commercial strategy behind major transmission, substation and infrastructure projects.

What you'll be doing:

  • Preparing detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment and subcontractors
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, RFPs and project scopes
  • Completing material, labor and equipment take-offs
  • Leading bid reviews, pre-bid meetings and proposal presentations
  • Developing pricing strategies, risk registers and cost analyses
  • Coordinating with operations, engineering and project management teams
  • Managing client questions and clarifications throughout the bidding process
  • Supporting project turnover and change-order estimating
  • Mentoring and developing junior estimators

What we're looking for:

  • At least three years of construction estimating or relevant field experience
  • Experience with drilled shafts, flatwork or shallow foundations
  • Background in electrical infrastructure, transmission, substations or heavy civil construction
  • Strong understanding of construction costs, productivity and project risk
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating tools
  • A degree in construction management, civil engineering or a related discipline is preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered
