- Manage social media accounts:
Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok to help promote scholarship, research, and food accessibility to students. - Analyze community-based resources for low-income students.
- Create fliers to advertise MARCOS and Student Wellness Events.
- Support new student recruitment initiatives.
- Assist with MARCOS student outreach, tabling, and support of student wellness initiatives.
- Increase access to student wellness:
- Assist with research to identify community-based referral sources that meet the demographic & support needs of our students (food insecurity, housing insecurity, mental health, financial assistance, legal aid, etc.).
- Assist with food pantry initiatives & management (inventory support/stocking of food accessibility location).
- Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, campus partners, and community organizations.
- Basic proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok), including posting content and engaging with audiences.
- Ability to create simple promotional materials, such as fliers or digital graphics, using Canva, PowerPoint, or similar tools.
- Interest in student wellness, food access, or community engagement, particularly for underserved or low-income student populations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Comfort interacting with students in public-facing settings, such as tabling, outreach events, and recruitment activities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive student or resource-related information.
- Ability to assist with survey coding in Qualtrics.
- MARCOS supported STEM background (Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Sciences).
This position will work 10 hours per week. Student employees can work up to 19.5 hours per week.
