Part Time Instructor - Teacher Education - Secondary Education

Nevada State University actively maintains an open pool of qualified individuals to be selected on an as‑needed basis by the department to fulfill part‑time temporary instructional needs, and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Nevada State invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty for in‑person, online or hybrid courses in the following secondary education areas:

• Biology
• Physical Science
• Mathematics
• English
• Social Studies

Applications will be considered on an as‑needed basis determined by course availability.

Adjunct faculty members are compensated at the rate of $1,000 per credit hour. Courses range from 1‑3 credits.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Secondary Education (Mathematics, Science, English, Social Studies).
• Minimum of three (3) years full‑time experience teaching children in K‑12.
• Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
• Commitment to active learning and teaching strategies.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment‑related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Secondary Education (Mathematics, Science, English, Social Studies).
• Previous teaching experience with undergraduate students.
• Relevant experience in K‑12 settings.
• Experience in web‑based coursework.
• Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
