Part Time Instructor - Student Teaching Supervisor

Nevada State University is a four‑year minority‑serving public institution with a statewide mission that focuses on teaching excellence and serving a diverse student body. The university offers a part‑time position as a Student Teaching Supervisor to faculty who will support student teaching placements on an as‑needed basis. Adjunct faculty members are compensated at $1,000 per credit hour, with courses ranging from 1–6 credits.

• Oversee the quality of the placement experience for the student teacher.
• Visit the student teacher equivalent of eight times.
• Establish a cooperative relationship and regular communication with the district teacher.
• Serve as the official liaison between the district school and Nevada State University School of Education.
• Complete a mid‑term and final evaluation.
• Attend specific seminar classes.

• Master’s Degree in the teaching area.
• Minimum of three (3) years full‑time experience teaching children in K‑12.
• Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
• Commitment to active learning and teaching strategies.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Doctorate in the teaching area.
• Previous teaching experience with undergraduate students.
• Relevant experience in K‑12 settings.
• Experience in web‑based coursework.
