Part Time Instructor - Teacher Education - Special Education

Nevada State invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty for in-person, online or hybrid courses in Special Education. Areas include:

  • Special Education (Generalist K-12)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Early Childhood Special Education (Developmentally Delayed)

Adjunct faculty are compensated at the rate of $1,000 per credit hour. Courses range from 1–3 credits.

The role focuses on delivering high-quality instruction in Special Education, developing course materials, assessing student learning, and collaborating with faculty and staff to support student success. Faculty will be selected on an as‑needed basis depending on course availability.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Special Education
  • Minimum of three (3) full‑time years of K‑12 teaching experience
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills
  • Commitment to active learning and teaching strategies
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Special Education
  • Previous teaching experience with undergraduate students
  • Relevant experience in K‑12 settings
  • Experience in web‑based coursework
  • Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching
