Part Time Instructor – Music
Nevada State University invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty to teach in-person courses in Music. Courses will primarily be introductory in the area of music appreciation, or a study of the history, culture, and aesthetics of music. Upper-division coursework may also be included. No current courses in music performance or composition are offered.
Adjunct faculty members will be compensated at the rate of $1,160 per credit hour. Courses are typically 3 credits.
ResponsibilitiesTeaching in-person music courses as assigned, preparing lessons, grading, and providing academic support to students.
Required Qualifications- Master’s degree in Music or a closely related field.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Music, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
- Previous teaching experience.
