Part Time Instructor – English Composition
Nevada State University invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty in‑person courses in English Composition. Applications will be considered on an as‑needed basis determined by course availability. Adjunct faculty members are compensated at the rate of $1,000 per credit hour. Courses range from 3‑5 credits.
Required Qualifications- Master's degree in Writing Studies, Rhetoric and Composition, Technical/Professional Writing, English Literature, Creative Writing, or a related field.
- Available to teach in person, particularly between 9:30 am and 4:00 pm.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment‑related visas).
- Experience teaching first‑year composition.
- Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS):
Canvas, Blackboard, or D2L. - Relevant industry experience in a writing‑based field.
Full‑Time Equivalent: 16.8%
