Part Time Instructor – Counseling
This position is for an adjunct faculty member to teach counseling courses on a part‑time basis. Courses may be delivered in‑person, hybrid, or online and are valued at 3 credits. Adjunct faculty will be paid $1,000 per credit hour for each course they teach.
Job DescriptionThis role supports the university’s counseling program by providing instructional delivery and student support for courses as needs arise. The position may require occasional meetings with program staff and preparation of course materials.
Compensation and Hours$1,000 per credit hour (3‑credit courses). Full‑time equivalent: 16.8 %. Exempt:

- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely‑related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship. (Nevada State does not sponsor employment‑related visas.)
- Previous teaching experience.
- If applying to teach online asynchronous courses, evidence of engaging content delivery that goes beyond reading textbook chapters (e.g., recorded lectures or videos; application assignments).
