Salary: $26,000 to $31,720 Per Year
ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support:
- Assist the teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Help prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
Classroom Management:
- Support positive behavior interventions and promote classroom routines.
- Supervise students during class transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional periods.
- Monitor student engagement and provide redirection when necessary.
Student Assistance:
- Provide guidance and encouragement to students as they complete tasks.
- Assist students with organization, materials, and classroom expectations.
- Support students with mild accommodations as directed by the teacher.
Administrative & Operational Support:
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-supplied classroom.
- Take attendance or record student behavior observations as requested.
- Assist with clerical duties such as copying, filing, and preparing materials.
Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with the teacher about student progress and classroom needs.
- Attend staff meetings or trainings as required by the school.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively with children under the direction of certified staff.
- Must pass background check and complete required training.
Preferred:
- Experience working with school-age children in a classroom setting.
- Associate’s degree, 48 college credits, or paraprofessional certification preferred.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support all learners.
- Dependable, flexible, and proactive approach to student support.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold school values.
This is a full-time, in-person position based at a CASLV school campus. It involves active engagement with students and staff throughout the school day.
