Ameri Corps Volunteers serve as mentors and facilitators, leading structured STEM, literacy, and social‑emotional learning (SEL) activities at school sites during out‑of‑school time. In addition to supporting education, some Volunteers will engage in community initiatives focused on disaster preparedness and environmental stewardship. These include delivering age‑appropriate emergency readiness education and leading sustainability efforts such as environmental education projects. Volunteers are trained in youth development, behavior management, and content delivery to ensure high‑quality engagement with students.
Volunteers serve in underserved schools, helping improve student connection, participation, and confidence in learning. This program provides meaningful service experiences while building leadership, teamwork, and professional skills for members. Participants gain hands‑on experience in education and civic engagement. Join the City of Henderson in creating lasting impact for local youth and building a stronger, more resilient community.
