Youth Enrichment Site Leader
Compensation: Starts at $15.99 per hour (part‑time, hourly). The hourly rate may be slightly reduced for positions eligible for PERS benefits. This is a part‑time position and does not include health/medical benefits.
Responsibilities- Serve as the direct on‑site supervisor of part‑time employees and program participants at satellite youth enrichment programs.
- Provide supervision and support during programs such as Safekey (before/after school) and Teen Scene (after school) at various elementary and middle schools.
- Maintain program daily operations, manage staff, and support participants in crafts, cooking, games, sports, field trips, and social events to meet program objectives.
- Ensure that all activities follow safety guidelines and city policies.
- Annual average of 19 hours per week (maximum 988 hours per year); potentially 40 hours per week during the summer season (May‑August).
- Work hours may vary and include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts (e.g., before and after school).
- Recreation Centers
- Senior Centers
- Aquatic Centers and Pools
- Battle Born Kids Childcare Program (summer when CCSD is not in session)
- Safekey and Teen Scene programs at elementary and middle school campuses
- Minimum 18 years of age at the time of application.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience working in recreation programs; comparable training and experience may be considered.
- Valid Nevada or "border state" driver’s license as defined by NRS 483.
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within the first three months of employment.
- Incumbents may be required to obtain specific technical certifications, licenses, or registrations.
- Desirable:
Two (2) years as a group leader in a recreation day camp–style program and/or any other youth enrichment related education, training, and work experience.
This is a safety‑sensitive position, which means you may be subject to drug testing if you are offered a position, as detailed under NRS 613(1)(d).
