Part Time Instructor - Speech Pathology
NV State University invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty for in-person, online or hybrid courses in the Speech Pathology Program. Both undergraduate and graduate level courses are offered, covering areas such as speech sound disorders, audiology, neurology, and speech and hearing communication science. Clinical supervision opportunities are available at the state campus clinic and/or Rite Care clinic in downtown Las Vegas.
Benefits of being a part-time speech‑language pathology faculty member include access to CAPCSD training CEUs, participation in the Center for Teaching and Learning, library access, support for technology, and access to clinic resources.
Adjunct faculty members are compensated at the rate of $1,000 per credit hour. Courses range from 1 to 3 credits.
Teaching and Practicum Supervision PositionsIncumbents must be effective communicators who present content using authentic examples, challenge students to think critically, differentiate instruction, and teach in a multi‑modal fashion. They will scaffold instruction effectively by providing prompts and cues to help students understand content and apply skills, and will use a variety of resources such as videos, online simulations, guest speakers, and clinical case studies.
Successful applicants will be proficient in presenting content and engaging students effectively online and/or in person, assessing student progress/effectiveness, and demonstrating a commitment to course planning and preparation.
Successful applicants will be strong communicators with effective teaching skills and a commitment to preparing excellent speech and language pathologists. Practicum supervisors will have exemplary writing skills, including the ability to prepare concise observation reports that lead to actionable change for students.

Required Qualifications- Master's degree in Speech‑Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech‑Language & Hearing Sciences or closely‑related field.
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence – ASHA CCC.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate and/or graduate students.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ph.D. in Speech Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech‑Language & Hearing Sciences or closely‑related field, particularly for graduate‑level teaching (not required for clinical supervision).
- Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
- Previous teaching experience.
