Overview
This position is for a Part‑time Instructor who will teach classroom‑based courses at any of the three College of Southern Nevada locations (North Las Vegas, Charleston, Henderson). The instructor will have opportunities for evening and weekend instruction.
Responsibilities- Teach the course IS101 – Introduction to Information Systems, covering computer fundamentals, hardware, software, file management, security, cloud computing, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Internet citizenship.
- Use the college’s Learning Management System (Canvas, Blackboard, or equivalent) to deliver course content and manage student engagement.
- Prepare instructional materials, assignments, and assessments that promote active learning and innovative teaching practices.
- Maintain student attendance, grading, and record‑keeping in a timely manner.
- Participate in campus activities and professional development as required.
- Meet the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification requirement in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as part of the selection process.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience teaching at the college or university level.
- Experience as a high‑school technology teacher is also considered.
- Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
- Experience with a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
- Technical degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
- Two full‑time or four part‑time semesters of post‑secondary teaching experience.
- Experience with instructional technology for the delivery of course content.
Starting salary range: $925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
