Part Time Machining Instructor
Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.
Responsibilities of a Part Time Machining Instructor include but are not limited to:
- Lecture and or Lab instruction for Machine Tool Technology (MTT) courses covering topics such as:
- Metrology
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Machining
- CNC Milling and Turning (Lathe)
- CADD and Additive or Subtractive Manufacturing
- Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence to safety precautions
- Develop syllabi and course materials. Instruct students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives
- Independently evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes
- Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs
- Provide advisement to students
- Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested
Required Qualifications:
- Associate of Applied Science degree in Machining or related engineering field
- OR
- 5 years of relevant industry experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years work experience in Machining and or Manufacturing or Industrial Technologies.
- 2 years experience teaching in Career and Technical Education.
- Leadership/ Management Experience
- Experience teaching on-line/hybrid classes, Canvas
- Experience creating college curriculum
- Experience developing an industrial lab in a college setting, such as a Machining, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Technologies
- Experience working in diverse multicultural situations
- Community college or technical school teaching experience
- Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles
- Computer literate in MS Office
- Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines
- Industrial Certifications such as NIMS, NC3
Schedule:
MTT courses will be primarily taught at the CSN Henderson Campus, and the City of Henderson Debra March Center of Excellence, in-person and may be scheduled during the day, evenings, and or weekends.
Salary Information: $925.00 per credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
